Kubota AT55 Walk-Behind Tiller Specifications

The Kubota AT55 is a gasoline-powered walk-behind tiller from Kubota's 1980s tiller line, which also included the larger AT60 and AT70S and the diesel AD70. It pairs Kubota's own GS200-2T air-cooled 4-cycle engine — rated at 5.2 HP — with a 4-forward, 2-reverse gearbox and a belt-tension main clutch, cutting a standard tilling width of 500 mm (20 in.). At 82 kg (180.7 lbs.), it is a compact but fully gear-driven machine, and Kubota still lists the AT55 in its OEM parts system today. All figures below are transcribed from the factory manual.

Tilling Width

Specification AT55
Standard tilling width 500 mm (20 in.)

The final digits of the cubic-inch displacement figure are partially illegible in our source scan. 201 cc converts to 12.26 cu. in., which matches the visible characters, so 12.26 is shown here.
Axle speeds are transcribed exactly as printed in the factory manual. Note that within each range, the printed "L" figure is higher than the printed "H" figure (e.g., Forward 1: H = 34.6 rpm, L = 56.1 rpm). The revolutions-per-second values printed alongside are consistent with the rpm figures (rpm ÷ 60), so the table is internally consistent as printed; we have preserved the manual's H/L labeling rather than reversing it. The reverse range has a single set of H/L speeds — the manual's table shows no second reverse range.
