About the AT60 / AT70S Series
These are center-drive walk-behind rotary tillers built around air-cooled, 4-cycle gasoline engines. The AT60 uses the GS230-2T — 226 cc (13.8 cu.in) rated at 5.5 hp — while the AT70S and AT70S-E carry the larger 276 cc (16.8 cu.in) GS280-TE / GS280-TE-S engine rated at 7.0 hp. All three use a non-contact magneto ignition system, a recoil starter (with an electric starter added on the AT70S-E), and 3.50×7 tires. Standard tilling width is 500 mm (20 in) with a 630 mm (24.8 in) option, a 360 mm (14.1 in) rotor diameter, 12 blades standard (16 optional), and a depth regulator adjustable from 1 in up to a full 7 in deep in 1 in steps.
The tillers offer two forward travelling speeds and one reverse, a three-stage vertically adjustable and swing-adjustable handle, and forward/reverse tine rotation with a lockout mechanism that prevents shifting the travelling drive into reverse while the tines are turning. The AT70S-(E) adds left/right wheel clutch levers for steering that the AT60 does not have.
