Kubota RC60-F24 & RC72-F24 Front Mower Deck Operator's Manual
This operator's manual is the factory operation and maintenance reference for the Kubota RC60-F24 and RC72-F24 rotary mower decks, the mid-mount cutting units that attach to Kubota's F-series front mowers, running roughly 28 pages of setup, mounting, operation, and maintenance procedure. It's the book that came with the machine: safe-operation rules, step-by-step assembly and mounting, cutting-height selection, and periodic lubrication and service. Originally published by Kubota and delivered here as an instant PDF download you can read on any device or print for the cab.

About the RC60 & RC72 Mower Decks
The RC60 and RC72 are three-blade rotary mower decks designed to mount to Kubota F2100 and F2400 front mowers through a two-point linkage, with cutting height set by gauge wheels. The RC60 cuts 59.8 in (1520 mm) wide and weighs about 286 lbs (130 kg); the RC72 cuts 71.9 in (1826 mm) wide and weighs about 408 lbs (185 kg). Both run a cutting-height range of 1.5 to 4.0 in (38 mm to 102 mm) and carry three blades — 20.5 in (520 mm) on the RC60 and 24.6 in (625 mm) on the RC72. Blade spindle speed is listed at 2870 rpm on the RC60 and 2412 rpm on the RC72, with blade tip velocity around 15,400 to 15,530 fpm.
These decks were built to be mounted, removed, and re-fitted seasonally — with or without the lift-spring assist — and much of this manual is devoted to getting that linkage, the universal-joint PTO connection, and the anti-scalp roller settings correct. Because the cutting-height charts, torque values, and lubrication intervals are model-specific to the deck rather than the tractor, factory documentation is what keeps the setup and service done to spec.
What This Manual Covers
- Safe operation & safety labels: Operator safety rules, dismount procedure, ROPS and seat-belt guidance, and the mower safety label part numbers and placement.
- Important setup notes: Anti-scalp roller adjustment by cutting height, high PTO speed (2550 rpm), 50-hour grease points, and the 150-hour belt-shield cleaning interval.
- Service & introduction: Product identification number location, full specifications for both decks, and mower deck terminology.
- Setting up: Pre-assembly parts check and step-by-step assembly of gauge wheel arms, front gauge wheels, front roller, anti-scalp roller, discharge deflector, lift rods, and inside roller.
- Lift spring installation: Spring stay fitting, tension-screw adjustment (distance "A" of 2.0 in RH / 2.6 in LH), and lift-spring and tension-rod installation.
- Mounting the mower: Both procedures — without lift spring and with lift spring — including rear weight installation for the RC72 and the spring-loaded mower-link caution.
- Removing the mower: Removal with and without the lift spring.
- Operation: Making the most of the mower, cutting-height selection, and operating procedure.
- Maintenance: Periodic lubrication and maintenance checks, service latch, blade replacement, deck belt, lift-rod adjustment, front gauge wheel, and the tightening torque chart.
- Troubleshooting & storage: Problem/cause/remedy reference and long-term winter storage.
Why This Manual Matters
- Correct mounting and removal, both ways. The linkage attaches differently with and without the lift-spring assist, and the mower links carry roughly 55 lbs (25 kg·f) of spring tension — this manual walks through each procedure and its cautions so the deck goes on and comes off safely.
- Cutting height set by the book. The anti-scalp roller and lift-rod position charts tie each mounting hole to a specific height from 1.5 to 4.0 in, so you set the deck deliberately rather than by guess.
- The reference data the job depends on. Grease intervals, the 150-hour belt-shield cleaning, blade-stack assembly order, and a tightening torque chart are included, so you can service and reassemble to spec.
- Covers both deck sizes together. Specifications, setup, and maintenance for the 59.8 in RC60 and 71.9 in RC72 are documented side by side, including the RC72-only rear weight step.
- Scarce attachment literature, restored. Factory documentation for implement decks is increasingly hard to find — this searchable, restored PDF puts it back in your hands.
