Ford 1210 Tractor Specifications

Specs HubFord › 1210

Complete specifications for the Ford 1210 compact tractor, transcribed from the specifications section of the factory operator's manual (SE4065A). The 1210 is the smallest tractor in Ford's 10-series compact range — a three-cylinder Shibaura diesel of just 53.6 cu. in., with manual steering and drum brakes where the larger models in the series use power steering and wet discs. It was offered with either a ten-speed mechanical transmission or a hydrostatic drive, in two-wheel and four-wheel drive.

The manual notes that if the recommended engine oil is not readily available, a commercial oil may be used, selected by outdoor temperature from a chart giving SAE 10W, 10W30, 15W40 and 30 grades across a range anchored at −13°F (−25°C), 14°F (−10°C), 32°F (0°C) and 90°F (32°C).1 It also notes that engine crankcase oil drain intervals should be shortened when diesel fuel sulfur content is above 0.5%.2

Notes:
1 The manual gives the oil viscosity recommendation as a graphical chart of overlapping temperature bands rather than a table. The anchor temperatures are reproduced above; see the operator's manual for the chart itself.
2 The manual prints “disesl” in this note; spelling normalised.
3 The manual leaves these cells blank in the two-wheel drive column.
4 The manual prints the metric range as “78.9–1165 cm”. The imperial figures (31.1–45.9 in.) correspond to 78.9–116.5 cm, so the decimal point appears to have dropped in printing.
5 The manual presents ground speeds as a bar chart rather than a table. The values above are the endpoint figures printed on that chart at 1350 and 2700 rpm — they are transcribed, not measured from the graph.
6 The maximum speed for 9th gear is not legible in the source scan. It has been left blank rather than inferred; every other gear on the chart is exactly twice its minimum, but that pattern has not been used to fill this cell.
7 A hydrostatic transmission is continuously variable from zero. The manual prints two figures for the H.S.T. in each direction, shown here in the 2700 rpm column.
