Ground Speeds

The manual heads this chart “From 1350 to 2700 rpm engine speeds with 8.3 × 24 rear tires”. Both of those figures conflict with the 1500's own specifications. See footnote 5 before relying on these numbers.

Notes:
1 Reproduced as printed. 3.35 in. is 8.5 cm, not 8.0 cm. The imperial figure is the sound one: a 3.35 in. bore with a 3.94 in. stroke across two cylinders gives 69.4 cu. in., which matches the printed displacement of 69.2 cu. in. An 8.0 cm bore would not.
2 Reproduced as printed. 4.0 U.S. gpm is about 3.3 Imperial gallons per minute, not 3.6. The Ford 1300 manual prints this line as “4.3 U.S. gpm (3.6 Imp. Gals.)”, which does convert correctly.
3 The manual gives the engine lubricant as a page cross-reference rather than a specification. Page 22 is the fuel and lubricants section, which is not part of the specification section transcribed here.
4 Reproduced as printed. 59.3 in. is about 150.6 cm, not 105.6 cm. The digits appear to have been transposed.
5 The manual presents ground speeds as a bar chart rather than a table, and this particular chart does not appear to belong to the 1500. It is headed “with 8.3 × 24 rear tires”, but the tire table on the previous page gives 9.5-24 as the 1500's standard rear tire. It is headed “from 1350 to 2700 rpm”, but the 1500's rated engine speed is 2500 rpm. And every value on it is identical to the chart in the Ford 1300 manual, which is 8.3-24 shod and rated at 2700 rpm. The two manuals carry consecutive codes (SE 3750 and SE 3751) and the same print number, 1796. The figures are transcribed exactly as printed, but on a 9.5-24 tire the true speeds would be higher, and at the 1500's lower rated speed they would be lower again. Treat them with caution and verify against your own tractor.
The manual also prints its own section heading as “HYDRUALIC LIFT SYSTEM”. It has been set correctly above.
All specifications transcribed from the specifications section of the Ford 1500 operator's manual, manual code SE 3751, originally published by Ford Tractor Operations, Ford Motor Company. Ford reserved the right to change specifications without notice; verify against your tractor's serial number before ordering parts or setting clearances.
