Ford 1700 Tractor Operator's Manual
60 pages, digital PDF download
This Ford 1700 Tractor Operator's Manual is the factory-issued guide designed to help owners safely operate, maintain and service their Ford 1700 compact tractor. Whether you are performing routine maintenance, setting wheel tread width, operating the hydraulic lift system, or preparing the tractor for seasonal storage, it provides step-by-step instructions straight from Ford, under manual code SE3752A.
Ideal for farmers, property owners and restorers, the manual covers both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations and includes detailed lubrication charts, operating procedures and the specifications needed to keep the tractor running reliably.
About the Ford 1700
The Ford 1700 runs a two-cylinder Shibaura diesel of 77.7 cu. in. (1272 cc), rated at 2500 rpm and producing 23.0 observed PTO horsepower. It carries twelve forward gears and four reverse, a Live Position Control Category 1 three-point hitch with optional draft control, and a gear pump delivering 7.3 gpm at a 2133 psi relief setting. Hydraulic power steering was available as an alternative to manual.
Bare weight is 2326 lbs. in two-wheel drive or 2513 lbs. in four-wheel drive, on 11.2 × 24 rear tires and a wheelbase of about 60 inches.
It shares its engine displacement with the earlier Ford 1000 and 1600, but the specification was revised: injection timing moved from 24° to 21° BTDC, idle speeds came down, and valve lash is specified cold rather than warm. If you are working from an older manual for the same engine, check that last one before setting valves.
