Ford 1910 Tractor Operator's Manual

This operator's manual is the factory operation and maintenance reference for the Ford 1910 compact diesel tractor, 68 pages of controls, operating procedure, lubrication and scheduled maintenance. It's the book that came with the machine: the instrument panel and control layout, break-in and starting procedure, separate lubrication and maintenance charts for two-wheel and four-wheel drive, and the complete specification and capacity tables. Originally published by Ford and delivered here as an instant PDF download you can read on any device or print for the shop.

Models covered: Ford 1910, both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. The manual carries a separate lubrication and maintenance chart for each.

About the Ford 1910

The 1910 is a compact Ford utility tractor built in Japan by Shibaura from 1983 to 1986 as part of Ford's Ten Compact Series. It runs a three-cylinder diesel of 103.88 cu. in. (1702 cc) on a 3.35 × 3.94 in. bore and stroke, with a 21:1 compression ratio, 1-2-3 firing order and a rated speed of 2500 rpm. Power goes through a 12 × 4 synchromesh transmission and a dual clutch, and an accessory creeper range with a 7.78:1 ratio doubles that to 24 forward and 8 reverse speeds.

At the back it carries a 1-3/8 in. six-spline PTO turning 540 rpm at 2455 engine rpm, with 28.5 observed PTO horsepower, a live Category 1 three-point linkage, and a gear-type hydraulic pump rated 7.3 U.S. gpm at 2133 psi. Four-wheel drive and power steering were both options, and the capacities, tires, wheel bolt torques and weights differ between the two-wheel and four-wheel drive versions. This manual prints both side by side.

Full engine, capacity, cooling, hydraulic, tire, dimension and torque figures are listed on the Ford 1910 specifications page.

What This Manual Covers

  • International symbols and safety precautions: The symbol key used on the machine and in the book, followed by the full safety section.
  • Controls and instruments: Seat and rollover protective structure, lighting, instrument panel, throttle controls, brake controls, differential control, transmission and PTO controls, and the hydraulic lift system controls.
  • Operation: Break-in procedure, starting and stopping the engine, operating the transmission, four-wheel drive and PTO, towing the tractor, the differential lock, and the hydraulic lift system.
  • Driving, tread settings and weighting: Driving technique, front and rear wheel tread settings, tractor weighting with cast-iron and liquid ballast, and tire pressures.
  • Lubrication and maintenance charts: One chart for the two-wheel drive tractor and one for the four-wheel drive, laying out every service point against its interval.
  • Fuel and lubricants: Fuel and lubricant specifications with Ford part numbers, plus the service procedures for filters, the injection pump, the cooling system and belts.
  • General maintenance and tractor storage: Routine maintenance across the machine, and how to put the tractor away and return it to service.
  • General torque specification table: A dedicated fastener torque reference.
  • Specifications: Engine, capacities, cooling, electrical, fuel, clutch, brakes, steering, PTO, hydraulics, cast-iron weights, tires, wheel and ROPS bolt torques, lubricants, dimensions and ground speeds.
  • Safety and instruction decals: Decal locations, what each one says, and their part numbers for replacement.
  • Pre-delivery and 50-hour service: The dealer check sheets and both record copies.

Why This Manual Matters

  • Two drivelines, one book. The two-wheel and four-wheel drive tractors get their own lubrication charts, tire sizes and front wheel bolt torques, so you work from the numbers for the tractor in front of you.
  • Service intervals with the right fluids. Every lubrication and maintenance point is tied to an interval, with the fluid specification and capacity called out.
  • Reference data you can reassemble to. The general torque table, wheel and ROPS bolt torques, valve clearances and full system capacities are all printed here.
  • Decal identification with part numbers. The decal section shows where each decal belongs and gives its part number.
  • Searchable, restored PDF. Scanned from an original manual and text-searchable, so you can jump straight to the page you need.
