Ford 6700 & 7700 Tractors Operator's Manual
100 pages, digital download
This is the original factory Operator's Manual covering both the Ford 6700 and Ford 7700 agricultural tractors in one book, issued by Ford Motor Company under manual code SE 3549. It runs from international symbols and safety precautions through controls, operation, the full lubrication and maintenance schedule, troubleshooting, specifications, safety decals, pre-delivery and 50-hour service, and a complete index.
About the Ford 6700 and 7700
Both tractors run a four-cylinder diesel of 256 cu. in. (4195 cc) rated at 2100 rpm, with hydrostatic tilt steering, mechanically actuated disc brakes, and a live hydraulic system at 2500 psi feeding a Category II three-point linkage. The PTO is independent and hydraulically actuated, which is a meaningful upgrade over the transmission-driven PTO on the Ford 7000 that uses the same engine: it keeps turning when you declutch.
Where the two differ, the differences all point the same way. The 7700 runs a lower compression ratio of 15.6:1 against the 6700's 16.3:1, carries a larger cooling system, gets the 51 amp alternator and Load Monitor draft sensing as standard rather than optional, and has a much shorter oil change interval on high-sulfur fuel: 50 hours against the 6700's 150. Ford also specifies engine oil for the 7700's fuel injection pump and says nothing about the 6700's.
Both were offered on long or short wheelbases, with or without the Ford cab, and with or without Dual Power. A 28 gallon main tank plus a 19 gallon auxiliary gives useful range for a long day.

Full Specifications
Looking for the technical numbers? The Ford 6700 and 7700 specifications page reproduces the manual's specification section in full, with the two models side by side: engine, cooling, clutch, PTO, hydraulics, steering, brakes, electrical, lubricants, coolant intervals, capacities, dimensions and the complete axle weight tables for both wheelbases with and without the cab.
It also documents a genuine arithmetic error in the manual's 7700 weight figures, which matters if you are setting ballast.
