Ford 5600, 6600 & 7600 Tractor Specifications

Specs HubFord › 5600, 6600 & 7600

Complete specifications for the Ford 5600, 6600 and 7600 agricultural tractors, transcribed from the specifications section of the factory operator's manual (SE 3502), which covers all three models in one book. All are four-cylinder tractors rated at 2100 rpm, with single dry plate clutches, mechanically actuated wet disc brakes, independent PTO, and a Category II three-point linkage at 2500 psi.

The manual documents four engines, not three. The 6600 was offered as a gasoline tractor as well as a diesel, running 7.75:1 compression against the diesel's 16.3:1, with a smaller battery and an updraft carburettor. The 5600 diesel is the odd one on displacement at 233 cu. in.; the three 256 cu. in. engines differ in compression, the 7600 sitting lowest at 15.6:1.

Configurations run wider than the model names suggest: All Purpose, Row Crop with a wide front end, Row Crop tricycle, and for the 6600 an Orchard specification with its own tire fitments.

The manual adds that in areas where prolonged periods of extreme temperature are encountered, local lubricant practices are acceptable: Low Ash SAE 5W (CC) in extremely cold temperatures or Low Ash SAE 40 (CD) or SAE 50 (CD) in extremely high temperatures.

Fuel sulfur note, as printed: with a sulfur content below 1.0%, an API CC oil may be used instead of CD, but the oil and filter change interval must be reduced to 150 hours. Between 1.0% and 1.3% sulfur a CD oil must be used (except at 10°F and below), with the interval reduced to 150 hours. Fuel with a sulfur content above 1.3% is not recommended.

Notes:
1 Reproduced as printed, but the metric figure is wrong. 56.0 U.S. quarts is 53.0 litres, not 40.7. The 40.7 litre figure belongs to the row two lines below it, where 43.0 U.S. quarts does convert to 40.7 litres, so it appears to have been copied up the column. The Ford 6700 and 7700 manual prints the same 56.0 U.S. quart capacity correctly as 53.0 litres. Use 53 litres.
2 Reproduced as printed. 2500 psi is about 175.8 kg/cm², not 1757.5. A decimal place has moved. The Ford 8600, 9000 and 9600 manuals all print the same 2500 psi setting as 175 kg/cm².
3 Reproduced as printed. 153.3 in. is about 3894 mm, not 3598.9. The All Purpose and tricycle lengths on the same line both convert correctly, so this figure is the odd one out.
4 The tire matrix runs to six configuration columns and more than thirty sizes in the original, set closely enough that column alignment takes care to read. It has been transcribed carefully and checked, but tires are expensive and rims are specific: confirm against the manual page or your tractor before ordering.
5 This table is identical to the road speed table in the Ford 7000 manual at the 1500 and 2100 rpm columns, gear for gear including both reverses. The two share the same eight-speed transmission.
All specifications transcribed from the specifications section of the Ford 5600, 6600 and 7600 operator's manual, manual code SE 3502, originally published by Ford Motor Company. Ford reserved the right to change specifications without notice; verify against your tractor's serial number before ordering parts or setting clearances.
