Massey Ferguson MF 150 Tractor Specifications

Specs HubMassey Ferguson › MF 150

Complete specifications for the Massey Ferguson MF 150 tractor, transcribed from the specifications section of the factory operator's manual (Form No. 1448 079 M3, dated 5/72). The MF 150 was offered with a choice of two Perkins three-cylinder engines of identical 152.7 cu. in. displacement: the AG3.152 gasoline at 7.5:1 compression, and the AD3.152 diesel at 18.5:1.

A gasoline Perkins is an unusual thing to find in a tractor of this period, and the two engines share bore, stroke, displacement, firing order and oil pressure. They differ in compression, no-load governed speed, valve clearance and, of course, fuelling.

Transmission was either an eight-speed giving eight forward and two reverse, or the optional Multi-Power, which adds two-stage compounding for twelve forward and four reverse. As on the MF 180, the clutch follows the PTO choice rather than the transmission: “Live” PTO tractors get a dual dry-disc of 11 and 9 inches, “Independent” PTO tractors a single 11 inch dry disc.

Notes:
1 Note the difference from the MF 135, which specifies two full-flow filters on its diesel. The MF 150 manual specifies one.
2 The manual specifies an alternator on gasoline tractors and a generator on diesel tractors, both Delco-Remy and both charging at 25 amps. That is as printed and is a real difference, not a wording slip.
3 Reproduced as printed. 18.5 U.S. gallons is 15.4 Imperial, not 14.8. Working the other way, 14.8 Imperial is 17.8 U.S. The other capacity rows in this table convert correctly.
4 The unit is wrong in the manual. The cooling system row is printed as “10.5 U.S. - 8.7 Imp. gals.”. It is quarts. Ten and a half U.S. gallons is about 40 litres, which is not a cooling system for a tractor this size, and the Massey Ferguson MF 135 manual prints the identical figures, 10.5 U.S. and 8.7 Imperial, correctly as quarts. The numbers themselves convert correctly to each other; only the unit is wrong. Shown here as quarts.
This manual's specification section carries no ground speeds table and no horsepower figures. That is how the manual is written, not an omission here.
