Massey Ferguson MF 2200 Industrial Tractor Specifications

Specs HubMassey Ferguson › MF 2200 Industrial

Complete specifications for the Massey Ferguson MF 2200 industrial tractor, transcribed from the specifications section of the factory operator's manual (Form No. 690 817 M1, dated 10/66). The MF 2200 was offered with a choice of a 134 cu. in. gasoline engine (4-cylinder, 39 hp at 2000 rpm) or a 152.7 cu. in. diesel (3-cylinder, 42 hp at 2000 rpm), and is unusual among the MF tractors in this batch for its industrial-duty power train: a torque converter option (2.12:1 multiplication) alongside three distinct transmission choices.

Three transmissions were offered: an Instant Reverse unit with hydraulically actuated multiplate clutches giving 4 forward and 4 reverse speeds, a Manual Shuttle unit with a manually shifted splined coupler giving 6 forward and 6 reverse, and a Manual Shift unit giving 6 forward and 2 reverse. Steering is hydrostatic power steering at 3-1/4 turns stop-to-stop. This manual's specifications section is unusually data-rich for the batch, with full drawbar performance and torque converter stall figures alongside the travel-speed tables reproduced below.

Notes:
1 The manual's Power Train section describes three separate transmissions: Instant Reverse (4F/4R), Manual Shuttle (6F/6R), and Manual Shift (6F/2R). The travel-speed tables on page 48 print the heading "Manual Shift Transmission" twice. The first table, reproduced above, has one reverse speed per range and matches the 6F/2R Manual Shift description. The second, despite carrying the identical printed heading, has a reverse speed listed after every forward gear (6F/6R total) and matches the Manual Shuttle description instead — the heading on the second table appears to be a duplication error in the original manual. Both tables are reproduced exactly as printed, under their printed headings.
Unlike the other Massey Ferguson manuals in this batch, capacities here are given in U.S. units only; the manual prints no Imperial column, so no conversion check applies.
