Complete specifications for the Massey Ferguson MF 245 tractor, transcribed from the specifications section of the factory operator's manual and assembly instructions (Form No. 1448 380 M6, dated 3/79). The MF 245 was offered with a choice of a Continental Z145 gasoline engine (145 cu. in., 4-cylinder, 7.4:1) or a Perkins AD3.152 diesel (152.7 cu. in., 3-cylinder, 16.5:1).

PTO output was independently tested at Nebraska: 42.90 hp for the diesel (Test No. 1251) and 41.09 hp for the gasoline (Test No. 1252), both at 2250 rpm. Transmission options ran from a base 6-speed through an 8-speed to the 12-forward/4-reverse Multi-Power, and as on the other MF tractors in this range the clutch follows the PTO type: dual dry-disc on “Live” PTO tractors, single dry-disc on “Independent” PTO tractors. Steering is hydrostatic.
